Connecting. Growing together. The Patient Care Coordinator isresponsible for the completion of set processes and protocols.
Works cooperatively with all members of the care team to supportthe vision and mission of the organization, deliver excellentcustomer service and adhere to Lean processes. Supports the teamsin meeting financial, clinical and service goals.

Primary Responsibilities:
- Obtain accurate andupdated patient information, such as name, address, insuranceinformation
- Perform insurance verification on the date of service
- Obtain patient signatures for required documents
- Upload a validGovernment issued state ID of patient and patient insurance cards
- Accurate and complete occupational medicine registration workflow
- File and maintain medical records
- Consistently correctregistration work queue errors
- Confirms and schedule appointments
- Answer telephone calls promptly and courteously
- Working dailyin the claims edit work queue to correct registration errors forsubmission to insurance companies
- Performs certain follow-upservices for patients in a prompt and courteous manner, such asscheduling specialist appointments, scheduling follow-upappointments and obtaining copies lab results or specialist reports
- Adhere to the standards identified via Sparq regarding OptumEmployee Policies
- Work cohesively with fellow employees toachieve specific team goals
- Keep abreast on current medicalrequirements relevant to their position, which includes maintainingpatient confidentiality and abiding by all HIPAA and OSHArequirements
- Comfortable working in high pace environment
- Participate in planning, coordinating, and implementing care inconjunction with the multidisciplinary team in accordance with thePlan of Care
- Assure the continuity of care through scheduling andtracking systems
- Provide effective communication to patient /family team members and other health care professionals asevidenced by documentation, case conferences, communication notes,and evaluations
- Notify clinical staff of schedule changes as theyoccur
- Comply with administrative policies to ensure quality ofcare
- Demonstrate precision and efficiency in scanning documentsand monitoring the fax server, retrieving and / or scanningdocuments and assigning to the appropriate electronic chart
- Participate in orientation (scheduling segment) of new fieldemployees and distribute updates and changes as needed
- Performother related duties and assignments as required
- Organize andmaintains medical records

Required Qualifications:
- High SchoolDiploma/GED (or higher)
- 1 years of customer service orhealthcare-related experience
- Intermediate level of computerproficiency including the use of MS Word, Excel, Outlook, andmultiple web applications
- Reliable transportation
PreferredQualifications:
- 1 years of experience working in medical frontoffice position performing duties such as scheduling appointments,checking patients in/out, insurance verification, collectingco-pays, and maintaining medical records

- Ability to work independently and maintaingood judgment and accountability
- Ability to multi-task andprioritize tasks to meet all deadlines
- Ability to work well underpressure in a fast-paced environment

- Strong organizational and timemanagement skills
- Excellent verbal and written communicationskills; ability to speak clearly and concisely, conveyinginformation in a manner that others can understand, as well asability to understand and interpret information from others Thesalary range for this role is $19.
86 to $38.85 per hour based onfull-time employment. Pay is based on several factors including butnot limited to local labor markets, education, work experience,certifications, etc. UnitedHealth Group complies with all minimumwage laws as applicable.
