Optum Pediatrics has an immediate opening for a friendly,patient focused and detailed oriented Patient Care Coordinator tojoin our team. The Patient Care Coordinator is responsible for thecompletion of set processes and protocols. Works cooperatively withall members of the care team to support the vision and mission ofthe organization, deliver excellent customer service and adhere toLean processes. Supports the teams in meeting financial, clinicaland service goals.

Working Hours:

A 40-hour work week, Monday from8:00am to 5:00pm, Tuesday from 8:00am to 8:00pm, Wednesday 8:00amto 3:00pm, Thursday 8:00am to 7:00pm, and Friday 8:00am to 4:00pm.

Rotating Saturdays from 8:00am to 2:00pm. The schedule will bedetermined by the supervisor upon hire.

PrimaryResponsibilities:
  • Obtain accurate and updated patientinformation, such as name, address, insurance information
  • Performinsurance verification on the date of service
  • Obtain patientsignatures for required documents
  • Upload a valid Governmentissued state ID of patient and patient insurance cards
  • Accurateand complete occupational medicine registration workflow
  • File andmaintain medical records
  • Consistently correct registration workqueue errors
  • Confirms and schedule appointments
  • Answertelephone calls promptly and courteously
  • Perform referraldocumentation promptly
  • Working daily in the claims edit workqueue and referrals work queue to correct registration errors forsubmission to insurance companies
  • Performs certain follow-upservices for patients in a prompt and courteous manner, such asscheduling specialist appointments, scheduling follow-upappointments and obtaining copies lab results or specialist reports
  • Adhere to the standards identified via Sparq regarding OptumEmployee Policies
  • Work cohesively with fellow employees toachieve specific team goals
  • Keep abreast on current medicalrequirements relevant to their position, which includes maintainingpatient confidentiality and abiding by all HIPAA and OSHArequirements
  • Comfortable working in high pace environment
  • Participate in planning, coordinating, and implementing care inconjunction with the multidisciplinary team in accordance with thePlan of Care
  • Assure the continuity of care through scheduling andtracking systems
  • Provide effective communication to patient /family team members and other health care professionals asevidenced by documentation, case conferences, communication notes,and evaluations
  • Notify clinical staff of schedule changes as theyoccur
  • Comply with administrative policies to ensure quality ofcare
  • Demonstrate precision and efficiency in scanning documentsand monitoring the fax server, retrieving and / or scanningdocuments and assigning to the appropriate electronic chart
  • Participate in orientation (scheduling segment) of new fieldemployees and distribute updates and changes as needed
  • Performother related duties and assignments as required
  • Organize andmaintains medical records

Required Qualifications:
  • High SchoolDiploma/GED (or higher)
  • 1 years of experience working in medicalfront office position performing duties such as schedulingappointments, checking patients in/out, insurance verification,collecting co-pays and maintaining medical records
  • Intermediatelevel of proficiency with MS Word, Excel and Outlook and theability to use multiple web applications
  • Ability to work:
  • Monday from 8:00am to 5:00pm
  • Tuesday from 8:00am to 8:00pm
  • Wednesday 8:00am to 3:00pm
  • Thursday 8:00am to 7:00pm
  • Friday8:00am to 4:00pm

  • Access to reliable transportation and the ability to cover otheroffices as needed
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Knowledge of Epic EMRsoftware
  • 1 years of customer service experience

  • Strong organizational and time management skills
  • Ability to multi-task and prioritize tasks to meet all deadlines

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills; ability to speakclearly and concisely, conveying information in a manner thatothers can understand, as well as ability to understand andinterpret information from others The salary range for this role is$16.

88 to $33.22 per hour based on full-time employment. Pay isbased on several factors including but not limited to local labormarkets, education, work experience, certifications, etc.
