Product Management – Product Management The Group Insurance business is undergoing a transformation which includes expanding product offerings and driving sustainable, profitable growth. We are currently seeking a passionate individual to become part of the Product organization, as VP, Supplemental Health Products. This role will report into the VP, Head of Voluntary Benefits and will be accountable for creating and delivering on a Product strategy and roadmap that is aligned to the P&L’s overall priorities, with a focus on profitably growing Prudential’s Group Supplemental Health book of business. They will lead a team that is aligned to the Group Accident, Critical Illness and Hospital Indemnity products with responsibility for Product Development and Product Management including related services and customer experiences. The current employee work arrangement for this position is Hybrid and requires your on-site presence on a reoccurring basis as determined by your business. Your manager will provide additional details relative to the specific number of days you are expected to be on-site.
What you can expect:
Partnering with the Head of Voluntary Benefits to manage the product strategy and multi-year product roadmap, delivering on all necessary maintenance activities, planned enhancements to the products and related capabilities, and new development activities. Monitoring and responding to evolving client needs, state and federal policy changes, and the competitive landscape. Providing strategic guidance and acting as a point of escalation for Supplemental Health product management activities. Partnering closely with technology, claims, distribution, account management, finance, underwriting, and operations to construct and enable Prudential’s Group Supplemental Health value proposition, deliver strong economic value, and ensure effective operational delivery. Monitoring all aspects of the value stream from quote to claim for the Supplemental Health product portfolio, including related industry trends, and applying knowledge gained to enhance existing products and design innovative new products and features that position Prudential as a market leader. Working closely with business partners to identify new features and enhancements that will result in improved client and customer experience, improved customer wellbeing, increased sales, participation, and persistency. Managing product performance in market to ensure they are performing as desired by monitoring key metrics and having collaborative discussions with distribution, underwriting and actuarial. Interacting with key customer and broker partners, participating in advisory board, stewardship, sales, and renewal presentations as needed as Prudential’s Supplemental Health product expert. Managing Supplemental Health-related vendor relationships and vendor performance. Reporting product performance and strategy to key customers including on governance calls and with senior leadership. Defining capabilities and processes required to effectively execute and deliver the products and capabilities to partners, stakeholders, and customers through strong partnerships with technology and operations. Leading, coaching, developing, and providing strategic guidance for team members while fostering a culture of innovation and inclusion. What you’ll need: A leader with significant experience in Product Development & Product Management in the Group Insurance market, specifically with the Accident, Critical Illness and Hospital Indemnity product set, and strong people management skills. A problem-solver who exhibits sound business judgement and innovative applications of risk adherence who can adapt as necessary and appropriate to the situation. Adept at navigating ambiguous situations, demonstrating resilience, and operating in the “grey”. Strong external & customer focus with the ability to navigate internal teams and process to deliver on objectives and goals. Strong collaborator who proactively partners across teams in pursuit of consistent and quality customer experience. An intelligent and thoughtful, yet decisive and action-oriented individual with negotiation and influencing skills. The ability to think strategically and plan for the long-term outcomes yet balance short-term needs of the business. Strong results-orientation, with the desire and drive required to accomplish stated objectives. Data driven and will make decisions informed by reliable data and insights. Agile and adaptable, prepared to use their experience in leading and building in a transforming environment. Strong interpersonal skills, clear communication skills, team orientation, and the desire and ability to work with business partners across the organization. The salary range for this role is from $185,100.00 to $250,500.00. Specific pricing for the role may vary within the above range based on many factors including geographic location, candidate experience, and skills. Market competitive base salaries, with a yearly bonus potential at every level.
