Job Overview:
RWJBarnabas Health is seeking a highly dedicated Service Line Manager for the Operating Room at the New Brunswick campus. The Service Line Manager SLM will lead in clinical decisions, supporting General service lines for the Adult Operating Room & Pediatric Operating Room. The Service Line Manager (SLM) will primarily manage the front desk for the Operating Room. This leader position is crucial for the daily operations of the main operating room and serves as traffic control and liaison between the OR and surgeons, anesthesiologists and patients.
Qualifications Required:
+ BSN or Nursing Diploma + Minimum of 2 years CNOR experience required preferably with progressive leadership skills + Strong communication and organizational skills + DaVinci experience + Proficient computer skills
Preferred:
+ BSN or must be completed within 5 years upon hire + CNOR +
MSN Certifications and Licenses Required:
+ BLS and ACLS certification + Active New Jersey Registered Nurse License + CNOR required
Scheduling Requirements:
+ Evening, 40 hours per week + Full-Time +
On Call Leadership Coverage Essential Functions:
Patient Care Management Maintains clinical expertise as demonstrated by: + Providing care that is safe, effective and consistent of RWJUH standards + Applying knowledge of growth and development over the life span + Applying the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the age of patients service on Service Line + Sharing specialty based knowledge and skills both formally and informally + Incorporating current research findings into clinical practice Provides open lines of communication for reporting medical errors and near misses using RWJUH organizational tools and resources + Demonstrates knowledge of quality improvement, clinical care delivery processes, and staffing, + Assists with review and/or revision of policy and procedures as related to operational processes, + Demonstrates knowledge of New Jersey Nursing Practice Act, TJC, NJDHSS, and other federal, state, and local regulatory requirements, + Demonstrates knowledge of AORN and AAMI Standards, + Consistently monitors to assure current awareness of the level of patient care being performed in the Operating Rooms, + Supports and enforces hospital and departmental policies and procedures, + Effectively communicates information to staff, utilizes resources and manages staff and services. + Collaboratively prepares and maintains staff schedule and payroll. + Effectively collaborates with interdisciplinary teams and drives through-out staff accountability.
