Patient Coordinator (Morganville, NJ) University Orthopaedic Associates, LLC Morganville, NJ Join Our Dedicated Team as a Full-Time Patient Coordinator in our Morganville Office! University Orthopaedic Associates – A Division of OrthoNJ is a premier provider of comprehensive orthopedic care, renowned for its team of board-certified, fellowship-trained surgeons. We offer exceptional expertise across a wide spectrum of specialties, including sports medicine, arthroscopy, joint replacement, trauma, hand & upper extremity, foot & ankle, and spine surgery. We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Full-Time Patient Coordinator to join our team in our welcoming Morganville office. In this pivotal and patient-facing role, you will be the first point of contact, ensuring a smooth and positive experience for our patients, their families, and referring healthcare providers. Your excellent communication, interpersonal, and multitasking skills will be essential to your success.

Responsibilities:
Welcoming Patients:

Greet patients warmly upon arrival and guide new patients through the registration process with thoroughness and care. This includes ensuring all necessary paperwork (new patient packets, HIPAA forms, abbreviated intake sheets) is completed accurately, signed, and initialed.

Efficient Registration:

Verify and update demographic and insurance information for both new and returning patients, meticulously entering all changes into our EMR system. Ensure accurate scanning of insurance cards and photo IDs.

Appointment Management:

Schedule patient appointments efficiently and accurately, adhering to company policies and procedures. This includes meticulous proofreading to maintain accuracy at every stage of the appointment process and confirming appointments with patients.

Insurance Verification:

Verify patient insurance benefits, eligibility, and referral/pre-authorization requirements.

Document Management:

Accurately scan documents into patient charts using our Phoenix EMR system and efficiently fax documents as needed. You will also be responsible for accessing patient information from various hospital systems.

Financial Transactions:

Post charges, collect co-payments, and ensure accurate daily reconciliation and closing procedures.

Cross-Departmental Coverage:

Patient coordination processes across both physician services and physical/occupational therapy to ensure seamless patient care.

Qualifications:

High School Diploma or equivalent. A minimum of two (2) years of proven experience in a hospital or physician office setting. Solid understanding of managed care referral and pre-certification procedures. Familiarity with medical and orthopedic terminology (a plus!). Experience handling confidential patient records and working with Electronic Medical Record (EMR) systems. Exceptional communication (both written and verbal) and interpersonal skills. Demonstrated ability to effectively multitask and prioritize in a fast-paced environment. Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy. Ability to cover 1 (one) evening shift Why Join UOA? OrthoNJ, LLC is required by New Jersey law to include the salary range for this role. The hiring range for this role is $15.50 – $24.00 per hour. The range for this role is typically determined by several factors, including the geography in which the selected candidate will be working, and alignment with qualifications and experience. Certain roles may also be eligible for additional compensation (bonus, etc) and/or benefits. In addition, full-time employees are eligible for standard benefits package including paid time off, medical, dental, vision and retirement plan.
