Job Description The Associate Director, clinical Operations is a key member of the operations team at NYC Health+ Hospitals I Bellevue, reporting directly to the Chief Clinical Operations Officer (CCOO). This role is responsible for leading and executing high-impact clinical, operational, and quality initiatives across inpatient, ambulatory, procedural, and ancillary departments. The Director ensures alignment with system-wide priorities, promotes high-reliability practices, and drives cross-functional collaboration to enhance patient care, operational efficiency, and organizational performance.
Strategic Execution & Operational Oversight:
Collaborate with the CCOO to define clinical priorities, establish performance targets, and execute strategic initiatives aligned with system goals.
Lead a wide range of initiatives, including service line development, workflow redesign, infrastructure planning, and quality improvement.
Manage core operational cadences (daily, weekly, monthly), leveraging dashboards, KPIs, and business review processes to monitor and drive performance.
Represent the CCOO at executive meetings, interdepartmental forums, and system-level committees, ensuring coordination and follow-through on strategic efforts.
Partner with finance to support budget development, monitor utilization, and evaluate capital and resource investment strategies.
Lead, mentor, and grow operational teams, fostering a culture rooted in accountability, equity, and collaboration.
Support strategic workforce development through recruitment, onboarding, and ongoing professional growth initiatives.
Clinical Business Unit Leadership:
Facilitate Clinical Business Unit (CBU) reviews in partnership with clinical administrative dyads, ensuring accountability for results and timely completion of action items.
Plan and conduct executive rounding, unit-based huddles, and leadership engagements to promote visibility, transparency, and continuous feedback loops.
Supervise project management personnel responsible for delivering on clinical and operational goals across service lines.
Process Improvement, Compliance & Communication:
Identify opportunities to streamline operations and improve outcomes using Lean, Six Sigma, and High Reliability Organization (HRO) methodologies.
Monitor service performance, resolve barriers to care delivery, and enhance patient experience across units.
Ensure sustained readiness and compliance with regulatory standards, including those set by The Joint Commission, CMS, and NYC Health+ Hospitals.
Facilitate clear and consistent communication across departments and stakeholders to promote strategic alignment, information sharing, and organizational learning.
Minimum Qualifications 1. Master’s degree from an accredited college or university in Hospital, Health, Public or Business Administration, Healthcare Management, Public Health or a related discipline; and four (4) years of full-time, paid progressively responsible experience in hospital administration with an emphasis on the development and evaluation of health care delivery services; or
2. Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in disciplines, as listed in #1 above; and five (5) years of full-time, paid experience, as described in #1 above. How To Apply If you wish to apply for this position,
