The Family Resource Center (FRC) at Manny Cantor Center is a welcoming space where individuals and families can chart their own paths toward self-improvement and fulfillment. Their highly trained Social Work team works with families from a wide range of backgrounds to offer support in finding hope, aid, and encouragement. Services provided include but are not limited to legal, housing, employment, advocacy, citizenship, parenting, ESOL, and group/individual counseling. The FRC Clinical Social Work Supervisor will provide case management and evidence-based therapy to individuals and families, with a focus on children and their caregivers. Using a whole-person, relationship-focused approach, the Clinical Social Work Supervisor will address clients’ emotional, behavioral, and practical needs, offering tailored interventions to help stabilize and strengthen families. This role involves short-term therapy, including play-based techniques, to support emotional growth in children. The CSWS will also supervise the MCC Early Childhood Education LMSW and interns within the FRC, facilitate clinical programming based on community needs, and collaborate with internal departments and external partners to deliver comprehensive services. Key Responsibilities Conduct client intakes, needs assessments, and develop intervention strategies.
Provide short-term therapy, including play therapy, to children and families in Manny Cantor Center’s preschool as well as community members outside the preschool community
Facilitate group sessions and workshops addressing community needs.
Supervise two social work interns annually and provide clinical supervision to the Early Childhood program School Social Worker LMSW.
Collaborate, Coordinate and Consult with on-site Early Childhood Education Program to address Mental Health needs for children in the school. Coordinate referrals and advocate for client access to external services.
Collaborate with other departments to connect families to holistic resources.
Collaborate with outside programs and resources to connect colleagues with high-quality PD opportunities and resources Respond to crises with safety assessments and management strategies.
Create, implement, and document unique clinical programs informed by community needs.
Maintain timely and accurate documentation, including case notes.
Work closely with data analyst to observe trends and create action plans to address observable needs. Participate in team meetings, trainings, and outreach efforts. Required Qualifications Master’s degree in Clinical Social Work (LCSW).
Proven experience working with children and families, including play-based therapeutic techniques.
Knowledge of community risk factors such as homelessness, intimate partner violence, and substance use.
Strong interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.
Ability to manage multiple priorities and maintain confidentiality.
Familiarity with the Lower Manhattan community and resources preferred.
