in an ongoing Phase 2 trial inNMIBC patients with carcinoma in situ (CIS) who are unresponsive ornaïve to treatment with Bacillus Calmette-Guérin (BCG), as well asa Phase 2 trial in pediatric patients with LMs. Additionally,Protara is developing IV Choline Chloride, an investigationalphospholipid substrate replacement for patients on parenteralsupport who are otherwise unable to meet their choline needs viaoral or enteral routes.

Job Overview:

Protara Therapeutics isseeking an experienced and visionary leader to join our growingteam as the Vice President and Head of Global Medical Affairs. Thisrole will serve as a strategic thought partner to the CMO andcross-functional colleagues and will be pivotal in shaping anddriving Protara’s medical affairs strategy and execution in theoncology and rare disease field, ensuring scientific excellence andimproving patient outcomes globally. This role will oversee allaspects of Protara’s Global Medical Affairs, including fieldmedical strategy, external expert engagement, scientificcommunications, advisory board leadership, medical congressplanning, and launch readiness for Oncology and rare diseaseassets. The position requires strong leadership, cross-functionalcollaboration, the ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced,agile environment, and expertise in oncology and rare diseases.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Otherduties may be assigned. Develop and execute the global medicalaffairs strategy for oncology assets, including pre-launch, launchplanning, and long-term strategic initiatives. Build scientificplatforms alongside our Chief Scientific Operations Officer, SeniorDirector, and Lead Principal Scientist. Define a Medical Affairsorganization in conjunction with our current Medical ScientificLiaison (MSL) team to ensure we scale appropriately. Collaborateclosely with R D to optimize development plans and evidencegeneration. Oversee Congress strategy and execution at allpertinent congresses and partner with Clinical Development andCommercial teams in support of commercial launch. Optimize clinicaltrial enrollment, leveraging existing resources, and implementapproaches to address our future requirements. Build and maintainrelationships with key opinion leaders, healthcare systems,advocacy organizations, and payer networks globally. Build ascientific publications plan, ensuring our data is sharedappropriately, and extracting the most valuable insights from ourdata. Ensure secondary publications are also considered. Partnerwith Development to coordinate our scientific advisory board.

Scientific Engagement:

Drive scientific engagement with keyexternal stakeholders, including key thought leaders, healthcareprofessionals, and patient advocacy groups. Ensure a deepunderstanding of patient and customer needs in the non-muscleinvasive bladder cancer space. Lead the development and executionof medical communication strategies. Represent Protara at majorscientific conferences and advisory boards to communicate medicalinsights and establish thought leadership in oncology.

TeamLeadership:

Build and lead an innovative, agile, and diverse globalmedical affairs team. Foster a culture of excellence that alignswith Protara’s core values. Develop and mentor talent within theorganization.

Cross-functional Collaboration:

Work closely withclinical development, regulatory affairs, market access, andcommercial teams to align strategies and maximize the impact ofProtara’s pipeline. Contribute to global brand planning andlifecycle management.

Medical Excellence:

Ensure the higheststandards of medical and scientific integrity in all activities.

Oversee the generation of high-quality scientific evidence tosupport our products. Stay abreast of the latest developments insolid tumor oncology and translate them into actionable insightsfor the organization.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

This role willinitially be a single contributor with a high degree ofcross-functional influence. And supervisory responsibilities willexpand proportionately with the Medical Affairs organization’sevolution.

Education/ Qualifications:

Advanced degrees in ascientific or medical field (MD, PharmD, PhD, or equivalent)required. Specialization in oncology is required. Previousexperience in urothelial and prostate/bladder cancers is a plus, asis experience with rare diseases. Minimum of 10 years of experiencein the pharmaceutical or biotechnology industry, with at least 5years in senior medical affairs roles. Extensive knowledge andexperience in solid tumor oncology. Proven track record ofdeveloping and implementing successful medical affairs strategiesand execution. Proven track record on launch readiness. Strongleadership skills with the ability to build and motivatehigh-performing teams. Excellent communication and interpersonalskills, with the ability to engage effectively with both internaland external stakeholders. Experience in global roles and managingdiverse, multicultural teams. Demonstrated ability to driveinnovation and adapt to a rapidly changing healthcare environment.

Oversee ongoing medical studies and ensure high-quality outcomesaligned with regulatory requirements. Mentor junior team membersand foster a culture of collaboration and innovation within theglobal medical affairs team.

Computer Skills:

Proficiency in the MSOffice Suite and familiarity with tools used in clinical trialdesign or health outcomes research are advantageous.

Other Skillsand Abilities:

Strong knowledge of HEOR disciplines, biostatistics,clinical trial design, and evidence-based medicine principles.

Exceptional interpersonal, communication, presentation, andorganizational skills. • Salary Requirements are between $320,000 -$360,000 based on experience and qualifications.

Physical Demands:

The physical demands here are representative of those that must bemet by an employee to successfully perform the essential functionsof this job. This position requires minimal travel; average travelfor this position is 40% – 60% both global and domestic with somevariation based upon the demands of the business imperatives.
