Videos Duties Duties include but are not limited to: Program Management Responsible for all aspects of pharmaceutical care services provided by Inpient Pharmacy within the Syracuse VA Medical Center. Responsible for ensuring all aspects of drug control, drug accountability and drug security is maximized and are in accordance with the Syracuse VA Medical Center and Pharmacy Service policies and procedures, and other applicable Federal and VA regulions. Provides budgetary oversight for inpient pharmacy. Provides operional oversight to the IV admixture program, including the preparion and distribution of all hyper alimention, chemotherapy and other admixed products. Provides oversight to the controlled substance program for inpient pharmacy and is responsible for accure maintenance of all record associed with controlled drug accountability. Assures proper security of all drug, supplies and equipment for the section. Manages the Automic Dispensing Cabinets (ADCs) and auto-replenishment/ ward stock for approprie stock levels and inventory control. Works with the Clinical Pharmacy Supervisor to monitor and develop clinical pharmacy programs/activities within the inpient pharmacy. Expert understanding of regulory and quality standards pertaining to Pharmacy. Manages an effective quality assurance program for the Inpient Pharmacy. Assesses, plans, and evalues the scope and quality of pharmacy programs. Participe in interdisciplinary medical center committees and pient rounds (as needed) as a member representing Pharmacy Service. Regularly conducts high-cost drug evaluion and corrections. As a result of identified trends and changes in procurement costs, develops approprie educional merials and new processes to ensure cost effective prescription processing. Administrion/ Supervision/ Leadership Responsible for the day-to day operions of the pharmacists & technicians in the Inpient pharmacy. Develops & maintains the schedule including leave and tendance for all inpient pharmacy staff. Conduct on-going and annual performance evaluion of subordines. Counsel employees on performance when necessary and/or recognize high level performance as approprie. Provide advice, counsel, or instructions to subordine employees on both work and administrive mters. Interview applicants for vacancies, determine their suitability for the position, and make recommendions to the Chief, Pharmacy Service. Maintain physical layout of equipment and fixtures in inpient pharmacy in a manner th allows efficient and effective flow of work. Staffing component minimum 8 hours per week.

Identify continuing educion and training needs for subordine employees based on performance of all subordine staff and to prepare them for new assignments, improve job performance, and/or maintain self-development. Responsible for training and oriention of new pharmacists and technicians to the procedures and operions of all aspects of the Inpient Pharmacy Collabores with Clinical Pharmacy Supervisor on pharmacy training and development, to promote the learning experience and improve the performance of all levels of pharmacy staff, residents and students.
Research:
Integres research protocol criteria and study medicion use into the Inpient pharmaceutical care dispensing procedures. Ensures th inpients participing in drug studies have their medicion needs met in a timely cost-efficient manner.
