What You’ll Do:
Step into a pivotal role as our Legal Services Coordinator for our Community Resource Legal Connection where you will work with the community and volunteer attorneys to provide access to legal services for those who are truly in need. You will participate in team problem solving to ensure the smooth and effective functioning of the programs. This is not just any legal job—you will be working alongside a team of advocates who are committed to helping the most vulnerable residents in our community.
Your Impact:
Support Clients and Volunteer Attorneys:
Work with clients to determine what assistance they need and coordinate with volunteer attorneys to facilitate legal services while helping them understand the legal process and their options while providing crucial emotional support and practical guidance.
Mentor:
Recruit and engage with college students, interns and other volunteers providing them with an opportunity to truly have a hands-on and impactful experience.
Educate & Advocate:
Participate in impactful community events, outreach, and trainings
- Collaborate for
Change:
Work alongside our dedicated team to continuously improve our services and strategies. A creative mind towards new systems that can help us to increase our capacity while maintaining the trauma informed service we are known for is a plus!
Who You Are:
- Bachelor’s Degree and/or degree in Paralegal studies is preferred or 5 years of relevant experience.
- Excellent phone skills and ability to screen callers with sensitivity and awareness.
- Must be able to use Zoom, Microsoft Teams, and other virtual platforms.
- Training and/or experience with trauma informed care is preferred. Why The Legal Project?
