The Regeneron Genetics Center uses genetics and health data onmillions of people to advance our understanding of human diseaseand guide Regenerons therapeutic programs. You will help us toorganize, analyze and interpret health information aggregated fromelectronic health records, surveys, digital devices, and laboratoryassays from multiple collaborators. This will require developingand implementing standards for health data as well as coderepositories, pipelines and analysis tools that facilitateinteracting with data. You will need expertise in organizing andstructuring large and diverse datasets as well as top-notchsoftware engineering and orchestration skills. You will help designdata structures that store health data. You will implement the codeand processes that populate, validate, and analyze these data. Youwill participate in the downstream analysis using machine learning,genomics, and epidemiology. This will be a dynamic, challengingposition with lots of work and lots of opportunities. As a Manager,Clinical Informatics, a typical day might include : Reviewing thestructure, content, and quality of phenotype data extracted fromelectronic health records, surveys, digital devices , or laboratoryassays. Each of these datasets may include data on 100,000s ofpeople and require coordination and input from multiplestakeholders with varied expertise. Developing the tools and codethat will transform electronic health records, surveys, laboratoryassays, or digital device data into a harmonized tall and narrowformat compatible with RGC analytical tools, applications andprocesses. You will probably be writing and updating code in Pythonand using associated data science libraries, such as pandas,Polars, NumPy, scikit, and others. Developing and maintaining atoolkit with key functions, APIs, and summaries that help usersunderstand, interpret, and interact with phenotype data. Inaddition to Python, knowledge of R, SQL and/or C++ is a definiteplus. Discussing the challenges and opportunities of using healthdata from electronic health records, surveys, digital devices , andlaboratory assays to characterize human health and disease.

Expertise in cutting-edge statistical methods for epidemiology is adefinite plus. Working with modern cloud environments andplatforms. A knowledge of AWS and related toolkits will be usefulfor your day-to-day work. You will be using your computationalskills to execute analysis and data processing at scale and tofacilitate automation and repeatability of all key processes.

Presenting results and summaries of these datasets and dataprocessing plans to a variety of technical audiences, ranging fromexperts in statistics, epidemiology, genetics, and computation toexperts in biology, drug design, and medicine. You will needoutstanding communication skills and an ability to summarize andpresent to a variety of technical audiences. Working in a highlyinteractive environment with a diverse team of colleagues. This role might be for youif: An outstanding candidate will have an advanced degree inComputer Science, Health Informatics, Clinical Informatics,Biostatistics, or a related field. Experience in organizing andprocessing rich datasets is expected. A demonstrated knowledge ofPython and key data science libraries is a must. Knowledge of R,SQL and/or C/C++ is also highly valued. Understanding strategies for mapping structured and unstructureddata to ontologies such as ICD-10, RxNORM and LOINC.
