Salary Range:
$ 29.05-50.28 USD This position is dedicated to enhancing the safety and well-being of staff at UPMC Western Psychiatric Hospital. As a member of the Quality and Patient Safety team, the role focuses on preventing staff injuries and reducing workplace violence through proactive support and analysis. The individual will assist with debriefing staff following crisis events, contribute to the review and analysis of incidents involving patients and staff, and support the Root Cause Analysis and event review process. Responsibilities:
Clinical Support Deliver and model effective patient care based on acuity and mental health principles.
Support staff during and after crisis events; assist with challenging patient situations.
Maintain professional boundaries and ethical standards. Staff Leadership Supervise and mentor clinical staff; identify and address training needs.
Conduct interviews and support staff development through training and education. Program & Operations Collaborate on care planning and program improvements.
Ensure adherence to clinical standards and system competencies.
Coordinate special projects and work flexible shifts as needed. Quality & Safety Support workplace violence prevention and incident analysis.
Participate in research and data sharing.
Maintain required competencies and complete duties efficiently.
Qualifications:
Master’s degree in a Human Services Field.
5 years of Mental Health experience required.
3 years of supervisory experience required.
Member of the ASAP Team and a Crisis Trainer required.
Crisis experience preferred.
Work history that includes telephone triage as well as an in-depth knowledge and proven skill at doing psychiatric assessments.
Excellent interpersonal skills.
Ability to work under conditions of potentially high stress and emergency situations.
Licensure, Certifications, and Clearances:
Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR)
Comprehensive Crisis Management (CCMC)
Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW)
Act 31 Child Abuse Reporting with renewal
Act 33 with renewal
Act 34 with renewal
