Job Description

Respiratory Therapy Director of Clinical Education (DCE) South Hills School of Business & Technology 480 Waupelani Drive, State College, PA 16801 Programmatic Accreditation – Clinical Responsibilities Coordinate, schedule, and oversee all clinical education experiences. Ensure clinical sites provide quality learning experiences that meet CoARC standards. Maintain current clinical affiliation agreements and establish new partnerships as needed. Orient, train, and serve as a liaison to clinical preceptors and site coordinators. Supervise and assess students in clinical settings through direct observation, evaluation tools, and feedback from clinical staff. Develop and implement clinical policies and procedures, including clinical syllabi and student handbooks. Maintain accurate documentation of clinical hours, evaluations, and competencies. Ensure compliance with all CoARC standards and participate in accreditation self-study and site visit preparation. Maintain current knowledge of professional discipline, clinical practices, and accreditation policies. Attend programmatic workshops and training as necessary (CoARC Key Personnel Training). Instruction Classroom instructional hours as assigned (Projected 2025-2026

Academic Year:

A&P, Med Term, Pathophysiology) Prepare classroom syllabi for assigned courses following approved guidelines Prepare lectures and design tests, and projects for assigned courses Advise and help students who need after-class assistance Utilize Canvas in courses and actively engage with students through that platform Curriculum Build new curriculum and content as needed Emphasis on the development, delivery, and ongoing assessment of clinical education Develop clinical syllabi & course descriptions Participate and chair Program Advisory Committees Personnel Provide effective leadership and support for clinical faculty and affiliates Conduct annual performance reviews and provide feedback, follow-up, and training as necessary Complete schedules and approve time off Assist with hiring and training of new RT faculty Other Duties Partner with Admissions & Marketing to identify & participate in recruitment opportunities Attend student events (orientation, graduation, Campus Visit Days, etc.) Co-chair quarterly department meetings and supply minutes Participate in program goals for IAIP Participate in professional development and faculty development activities Contribute to Campus Leadership meetings & initiatives

Requirements:

Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) Bachelor’s degree in respiratory therapy or related field Minimum of four years’ (FT) work experience as an RRT with a minimum of two as a clinical Respiratory Therapist Minimum two (2) years’ experience teaching either as a faculty member or clinical instructor/preceptor for a CoARC accredited respiratory care program Current credential/ State license in field
