THE POSITION

The Department of Human Services (DHS), Norristown State Hospital is seeking a Custodial Work Supervisor to oversee housekeeping services that support the operations at Norristown State Hospital by maintaining a clean and comfortable environment for consumers, staff, and visitors. DESCRIPTION OF WORK

As a Custodial Work Supervisor, you will supervise custodial employees and provide a safe, clean, odor-free, and comfortable environment for patients, staff, and visitors at Norristown State Hospital. You will be responsible for scheduling assignments, developing goals, and prioritizing work projects. Work also involves conducting on-site inspections, reviewing finished work, and maintaining quality control standards. This role requires strong leadership and effective communication skills in order to instruct staff in the proper handling of equipment, chemicals, and infectious waste while adhering to safety precautions for potentially hazardous materials. Lastly, you will be responsible for submitting requisitions for custodial supplies, complete reports, and prepare employee performance evaluations. Interested in learning more? Work Schedule and Additional Information:

Full-time employment, 37.5 hours per week Work hours are 7:00 AM to 3:00 PM, Monday – Friday, with a 30-minute lunch. You will work two (2) out of every six (6) weekends and rotating holidays. Your schedule may change based on operational needs. Overtime and travel as needed

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:

One year as a Custodial Worker 2 (Commonwealth job title or equivalent Federal Government job title, as determined by the Office of Administration); or Two years of experience performing custodial work.

A conditional offer of employment will require a medical examination. This position falls under the provisions of the Older Adult Protective Services Act.
