As a Patient Care Coordinator you will be responsible for helping patients schedule appointments, verify insurance benefits, and educate/encourage patients to move forward with recommended treatment plans. Your Responsibilities include:
- Support production and collections goals established by the company.
- Promptly answer phone and emails.
- Posting and submitting insurance claims.
- Coordinate appointments to maximize daily production and flow.
- Explain treatment options and procedures to patients.
- Understand and follow HIPPA guidelines.
- Work closely with the dentist and all staff to schedule treatment in a timely manner according to urgency of treatment.
- Present the patient with all options and a financial estimate/tx plan.
- Check account balances of patients coming in and prepare to discuss any balances due.
- Work with insurance companies to approve dental and medical procedures.
- Receive and enter payments to appropriate accounts.
- Work insurance aging and aging reports to maintain office accounts receivables through timely communication with patients and insurance companies
- Prepare deposit slips
- Greet each Patient with a smile as welcomed guests to the practice.
- Issue statements in accordance to billing cycle and protocol.
- Perform all other duties as assigned.
Team Work:
- Attend and contribute to daily huddles and monthly team meetings.
- Facilitate interoffice team communication with respectful and constructive problem-solving techniques.
Requirements/Competencies:
- Preferred Proficiency in electronic practice and health record management systems.
- Knowledge of dental insurance, calculating copays and insurance reimbursements is a plus.
- Basic knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel .
- Effective verbal skills to communicate with patients, doctors, and staff, in person and on the telephone.
- Ability to work on multiple projects at once.
- Ability to work both independently and cooperatively in a team setting.
- Organized and a self-starter needing little guidance on most tasks.
- Valid Driver’s License.
- Ability to pass a background check. These skills come easy to you:
