This role supervises multiple clinical education staff to ensure all clinical education activities are executed efficiently and in compliance with program accreditation requirements. The position provides operational oversight of clinical education logistics across assigned CHP divisions to ensure activities and initiatives are well-coordinated and addressed in a professional and timely manner. It facilitates collaboration between clinical education faculty and staff to support seamless execution of all clinical education initiatives. The individual in this role is responsible for maintaining organized data and departmental infrastructure by conducting routine assessments and systematic audits. The position also collaborates with all divisions within MUSC Health to coordinate clinical rotations for both MUSC and non-MUSC students. Additional responsibilities include coordinating with external vendors and managing the utilization of electronic platforms related to clinical education logistics. The position works closely with the CHP Associate Dean of Clinical Affairs to coordinate the establishment and renewal of affiliation agreements in partnership with University General Counsel. 000 Scheduled Weekly Hours 40 Work Shift Job Description Job Responsibilities 30% Collaborates with clinical education faculty to develop the infrastructure needed to support clinical education programs. This includes, but is not limited to, database development, staff hiring, and faculty/staff training. Develops processes, communication strategies, and reporting mechanisms to ensure compliance with all accreditation requirements. Participates in accreditation reviews and site visits as needed. 25% Acts as a liaison with clinical education faculty, the South Carolina Area Health Education Consortium (SC AHEC), clinical instructors, and other key stakeholders to ensure clinical education activities comply with program accreditation standards and applicable regulations. Develops and implements processes for maintaining required programmatic documentation and provides operational oversight to ensure all accreditation requirements are met and verifiable. Analyzes data in accordance with accreditation and university standards to ensure accuracy and proactively communicates relevant findings to clinical education faculty. 15% Leads strategic initiatives for clinical education across the Department of Clinical Sciences and the Department of Rehabilitation Sciences for all assigned programs. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, overseeing preceptor compensation models, implementing and maintaining clinical education databases, and developing and distributing training materials for students and clinical partners. 10% Develops and streamlines workflows for all clinical education activities by partnering with other MUSC offices and colleges to establish best practices. Conducts surveys and needs assessments to identify and address issues relevant to clinical education training. 10% Supervises the clinical education support team responsible for managing clinical education experiences across assigned programs within the Departments of Clinical Sciences and Rehabilitation Sciences. The team handles a variety of technical and administrative tasks, including inputting and maintaining data in current databases, facilitating required activities prior to the start of clinical rotations, collecting and publishing student compliance packets, preparing, disseminating, and following up on new site packets and affiliation agreements, and collaborating with clinical education faculty to manage availability requests and all correspondence with clinical partners. 5% Serves as the primary contact for all non-MUSC Physical Therapy and Occupational Therapy students scheduled for clinical rotations at MUSC. Coordinates the onboarding process to ensure non-MUSC students complete hospital requirements by collaborating with university offices including Department Coordinators, Human Resources, and Parking Management to obtain necessary clearances. Ensures effective communication with students and clinical representatives by proactively following up and resolving any compliance issues. Coordinates the establishment and renewal of affiliation agreements with non-MUSC OT and PT programs using MUSC as a clinical site. Initiates contact with programs to facilitate agreement execution and ensure all accreditation requirements are met. Collaborates with university legal counsel to draft affiliation agreements, oversees dissemination to programs, manages execution through legal counsel and signatories, and communicates negotiation issues with hospital representatives. Ensures every clinical rotation has an active affiliation agreement before students begin their clinical experience. 5% Continues the development and administrative maintenance of the clinical education database to ensure effective navigation. Regularly audits the website to verify its functionality and usability for clinical sites, administrators, and students. Communicates any issues to the appropriate clinical education faculty. Ensures that reports are accurate, easily accessible, and contain relevant information for clinical education faculty, staff, clinical partners, and students. Demonstrates clear and effective communication with students, staff, and clinical education faculty. Based on feedback from faculty and staff, develops surveys and evaluation tools related to clinical rotations as needed. Analyzes these tools to ensure they are user-friendly and that results can be successfully monitored. Collaborates with clinical education faculty and the Clinical Education Support Team to assess and enhance the effectiveness of each evaluation tool.
