Description:
The Patient Care Coordinator (PCC) acts as a collaborator between the assigned surgeon, Administrative and Clinical Staff while acting as a liaison between the surgeon and patient. Drafts and presents Treatment Plans to patients based on the determination by the surgeon and works to ensure treatment is covered by the patient’s insurance and ensures all financing opportunities are presented. Additionally, the PCC ensures all required surgical equipment and supplies are accounted for ahead of treatment. The role of the PCC is to ensure profitability for the assigned surgeon and the office while ensuring best patient practices are utilized to retain patients and to ensure the assigned surgeon’s conversion rates are high.
Requirements:
Travels with the assigned surgeon to all locations on rotation; most often. Travel to our other locations would be expected as deemed necessary by management. Meet daily with the surgeon to go over pertinent information Drafts and/or updates treatment plans to discuss in detail with patients Able to discuss and review financing options Carries out updating/modifying assigned surgeon’s templates Assist patients and staff members with scheduling per the assigned doctor’s preference Ensures all needed authorizations are in place for any necessary MRI’s or other hospital facilitated procedures Request medical clearance for patients when required Conduct post-operative calls, daily, for all surgical patients Handles the scheduling of all patient appointments Maintains all policies regarding office fees Ability to fully utilize all office software (DSN) Collaborate with referring offices to ensure referral and patient history is correct Keeps up to date on general knowledge of procedures and appointments Ensure all internal/external communications have been responded to, depending on urgency status, within 24-48 hours Coordinates large cases between the patient, doctor, billing, referring office, dental labs and/or hospital(s) Coordinates equipment, instruments, hardware or supplies for procedures Ensures
OSHA/DHEC/HIPAA
requirements are maintained Ensures highest level of patient care and office etiquette is used Attend relevant training and/or certification classes All other duties as assigned by management
