Deputy/Assistant Deputy Director of Behavioral Services:

Manages all of the clinical activities of SCDC’s mental health and addiction recovery outpatient services for male offenders. Provides training, clinical supervision, and resource information to agency staff related to addiction and recovery services. Direct and manage all aspects of outpatient BH services to include overseeing personnel matters (hiring, supervision, training, and disciplinary actions). Provide oversight to Medication Assisted Treatment (MAT) and peer support supervisor. Oversee DAODAS funding award to ensure compliance with the state and federal guidelines regarding MAT/peer support. Serves as the primary contact for the division working closely with the chief of psychiatry and psychology for scheduling outpatient provider coverage within male institutions. Work closely with the Deputy Director/Asst. Deputy Director regarding strategic planning, establishing infrastructure that will provide clinical supervision to clinicians and counselors, as well as providing training opportunities to staff. Attend divisional meetings and training and serve as a BH representative on various boards as required. Oversee DAODAS funding award to ensure compliance with the state and federal guidelines regarding mat/peer support. Serve as the primary contact for the division, working closely with the chief of psychiatry and psychology for scheduling outpatient provider coverage within the male institutions. Coordinate quality improvement reviews and program audits of services in collaboration with the BH CQM manager. Perform other duties as requested by the

Minimum and Additional Requirements State of South Carolina Minimum Requirements:

A bachelor’s degree and relevant program management experience.

SCDC Minimum Requirements:

(Or an acceptable equivalency as approved by the Division of State Human Resources). A master’s degree in counseling, social work, psychology, or related clinical field. Five (5) years of relevant program experience that involves the supervision of clinical and administrative programs involving the treatment of psychiatric disorders and/or addiction-related disorders. Preferred Qualifications Experience in the treatment of sexual offenders is preferred.
