We are looking for a dedicated Chief Clinical Learning Officer like you to be a part of our team. Job Summary and Qualifications The Corporate Clinical Learning Officer is the responsible executive for all aspects of the clinical learning and education agenda, regulatory and accreditation leadership competencies, and the Academic Affairs department. This position has a broad enterprise influence and will be responsible to build alliances with various stakeholders who include Corporate, Group, Division and Hospital Clinical Educators as well as Nurse Executives, Galen College of Nursing, and HCA GME programs to successfully execute HCA Healthcare’s clinical education agenda. We are looking for an executive leader to drive impactful change by providing leadership, operational understanding, and execution of education and learning performance improvement strategies to raise the bar for clinical education throughout HCA.

Key Responsibilities:

Establishes expectations and accountability for delivery of clinical education services and practices that create a patient-centered organization, driven by customer feedback and data. Expand clinical education program offerings to include additional service lines. Responsible for all aspects of regulatory and accreditation leadership competencies, the Academic Affairs department and the Centralized Student Placement Service team. Responsible for the academic partnership strategy and relationships across the markets. Leads the AVPs of Academic Affairs team, in partnership with the DCNEs to ensure that the role is aligning and driving hospital and academic centers engagement to drive overall student success. Oversees design and builds of future Clinical Advancement Centers including overall simulation strategy and footprint (physical/virtual simulation and connected classrooms). Develops and strengthens relationships with key education partners and vendors. Negotiation of contracts and accountability of performance. Manages CEU offerings for all clinical roles and the evaluation of new ones offered. Provides guidance and collaboration with ambulatory and outpatient clinical education teams. Engages group, division, and facility leaders to ensure processes and structures are deployed consistently to assure expectations of performance are established and accountability is maintained. Leverages various feedback mechanisms to benchmark performance and identify opportunities to improve customer/patient satisfaction. Provides guidance and collaboration with ambulatory and outpatient clinical education teams. Works with various stakeholders throughout HCA Healthcare to integrate company initiatives into clinical education programs. Understands the competitive landscape and stays abreast of external factors and opportunities impacting healthcare, to include political, legislative, and regulatory changes, emerging technologies, and advancements in healthcare delivery. Ensures and supports the organization in responding to these changing healthcare dynamics and market environments through clinical education. Partners with Galen College of Nursing to guide program development to meet workforce development needs. Leads the Galen & HCA Healthcare integration efforts in collaboration with the Academic President to develop and execute on a combined strategy. Align with key stakeholders to understand patient safety risk for mitigation and competency development. Partners with Human Resources and Nursing to understand clinical workforce needs and develops strategies to strengthen and/or create pipelines. Leads and develops the annual budget process for HCA Healthcare Center for Clinical Advancement, including expense forecasts, staffing, supply, and equipment needs. Systematically evaluates HCA Healthcare’s overall education plan to determine achievement of expected outcomes and resource allocation. Collaborates with the Clinical Education team to improve nursing practice of the organization through various clinical education strategies such as onboarding, orientation, Nurse Residency, new graduate onboarding and orientation, Preceptor Program and competency management.

Qualifications:

Masters degree Nursing and/or post graduate degree in a related field such as Healthcare or Business Administration is required Doctorate degree in Nursing or Healthcare Administration; other Doctorate degrees may be considered with appropriate education experience is preferred 10+ years of experience in progressive healthcare executive and hospital operations is required 5+ years of experience in a nursing executive role is preferred Previous DCNE Experience is preferred Experience with leading and execution of a clinical change initiative is required If the employee is using the title Registered Nurse (RN), the employee is required to obtain a license as a registered professional nurse in the state(s) in which he or she practices, in accordance with law and regulation.
