This position is responsible for the development and application of population-level initiatives including prevention activities and health assessments; engagement and cultivation of partnerships to address the health needs of the campus community; and application and evaluation of theoretical frameworks and evidence-informed strategies that address individual and community health. Job Description The Center for Health Education and Wellness within the Division of Student Life invites applications for the position of Assistant Director. This position will assist with the leadership of the department and will oversee the areas of alcohol and other drug prevention, relationship and sexual violence prevention, and the collegiate recovery program. Oversee and participate in the planning, implementation, and evaluation of theory-based and evidence-informed health promotion strategies, policies, programs, and services. Develop strategic plans, goals, and measurable objectives for health promotion programs and services. Hire, train, manage, supervise, and evaluate coordinators, student staff, and interns. Develop, implement, analyze assessments that 1) provide baseline and follow-up data, 2) identify departmental needs and priorities, 3) evaluate effectiveness of interventions, and 4) track trends in health status and behavior. Collaborate with key stakeholders on and off campus to develop a comprehensive, multidisciplinary approach to health for the university community. Participate in university, division, and unit committees and initiatives. Participate in professional organizations.

Required Qualifications Education:

Master’s Degree in Public Health, Health Promotion, Educational Leadership, Higher Education, or a related field

Experience:

3 years of professional work experience with at least 2 years in health promotion. Supervisory experience.

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities:

Knowledge of student development theories and models; Knowledge of health promotion, behavior change, and population-based theories and models; Knowledge of evidence-informed health promotion programs/initiatives; Quantitative and qualitative research skills; Skills in a variety of educational methods including presentations, trainings, small group, and individual; Written, oral, and interpersonal communication skills; Supervisory skills; Ability to work in a multicultural environment.

Preferred Qualifications Experience:

Experience in a higher education setting
