Ensures quality nursing and medical care is delivered to all clients to promotes their optimum health. Shall be responsible for the appropriate and timely delivery of total health services in accordance with all Federal, State, and Corporate regulations.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Ensures delivery of total quality client care by directly assigning, supervising, monitoring, and assisting all nursing personnel. Organizes, and provides oversight of nursing and health care services compliance with Agency, State, and Federal regulations, policies, and best practices. Directs management of all client health related issues. Directs all aspects of nursing staff performance evaluations, corrective actions, scheduling, and training of nurses. Manages clinical and contractual relations with Medical Director, Pharmacists, Laboratories, and all health related consultants. Acts as liaison with hospitals and clinics where and when clients are receiving health services while away from the Agency. Maintains budgetary compliance for the health services department. Ensures effective communication with appropriate Director and Interdisciplinary team of significant changes in the health status or health care needs of the clients. Provides direct oversight of medication administration and medication chain of custody issues in accordance with State and Federal guidelines. Participates in the development of nursing policy and procedure for Board of Directors approval. Monitors and reports relevant Infection Control issues. Ensures that client medical records and information is maintained in an accurate and confidential manner. Participate as an active member of client’s Individual Support Plan Meetings and Interdisciplinary Team meetings and all other meetings concerning the care and welfare of the clients served. Participates in the admissions evaluations process as needed. Assists in recruitment and selection process of any needed nursing personnel. Performs other duties as directed.
QUALIFICATIONS
Education & Experience:
Licensed as a Registered Nurse in good standing in the State of Tennessee 3 years minimum of supervisory experience Must have valid driver’s license with ability to obtain “F” endorsement Ability to lift repetitively a minimum of 50 pounds; tasks may include lifting, repositioning, turning, bending, squatting, etc. Must possess excellent communication, inter-personal, and organizational skills.
