The PEO Clinical Director is a key member of the CoreCivic Health Services senior management team and supports the leader of Correctional Medicine Associates, a limited Physicians Corporation consisting of providers serving patients in all CoreCivic facilities. Acts as an operations manager to support patient care strategies across the organization by providing medical oversight, expertise, leadership, and direct patient care to ensure the delivery of cost-effective, quality healthcare services. Assists the Chief Medical Officer in development of strategy and implementation of innovative clinical programs. Collaborates with strategic business partners in addressing correctional medical goals and patient care needs. Provides clinical oversight and direction to a team of regional medical directors and support staff. Monitors compliance with policy guidelines, clinical training standards, provider hiring and practice standards. •

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

•The incumbent should be able to perform all of the following functions at a pace and level of performance consistent with the job performance requirements: 1. Supports the development and implementation of the organization’s clinical direction. 2. Facilitates and encourages effective business and professional relationships with CoreCivic leaders and medical directors of state and federal partners to ensure objectives are defined and met, and patient care complies with contractual and fiscal requirements. 3. Provides patient care as a leading member of the flexible, rapid medical response team (SURGE) through onsite and telehealth services. 4. Participates in administrative committees including Morbidity and Mortality, Peer Review, Credentialing, and Talent Recruitment. Provides feedback and reports to the CMO regarding clinical care issues arising from M&M reviews, granting of privileging based on peer review and credentialing committee activities, and recruitment of key physician and mid-level providers for Correctional Medicine Associates, PC. In the absence of the CMO, chairs these committees and ensures appropriate provider offer decisions are made for the medical PC. 5. Performs peer reviews and works with the Chief Medical Officer in quality improvement initiatives. 6. Mentors, guides, trains and develops skills of medical and nursing providers. 7. Monitors providers’ care to ensure it meets policy and accreditation standards and prevailing standards governing correctional medical care. Reports findings to Chief Medical Officer. Develops collaborative corrective actions to improve quality and efficiency. 8. Obtains and maintains applicable state licenses and government partner clearances for SURGE Team purposes. 9. Domestic U.S. travel is required.

QUALIFICATIONS

Graduate from an accredited college or university witha medical degree (M.D. or D.O.) is required. Licensure as a physician is required. Five years of experience in correctional medicine, supervising mid-leveland physician level providers is required. Experience in correctional medical management as a state-wide medicaldirector, regional medical director, or corporate medical director ispreferred. Must demonstrate strongmedical leadership skills, communication skills and management acumen. Proficiency in Microsoft Office applicationsis required.
