The Surgical Services and Infusion Center Business Manager (SSBM), under the direction of the Director of Patient Care Services, plays a critical role in supporting the operational and administrative functions of the Surgical Services Department (ASU/PACU, OR, Infusion, and CSR) and the Infusion Center. This position is responsible for ensuring the efficiency and effectiveness of daily business operations, with a strong focus on resource management, vendor coordination, and quality improvement. This position requires an active Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of Vermont. The RN background is essential for clinical oversight, regulatory compliance, and quality assurance in both surgical and infusion care settings. The SS Business Manager holds formal authority and is accountable for aligning departmental operations with organizational goals. This role ensures the delivery of safe, high-quality, and cost-effective care through effective communication, strategic delegation, and responsible resource utilization. The incumbent also provides essential support to clinical leaders and staff, fostering a collaborative and performance-driven environment.

Education:

• Bachelor’s degree in nursing/health/business administration preferred. • Active and unrestricted RN license in the state of Vermont is required.

Experience:

• Registered Nurse with experience in Surgical Services or Infusion Center. • Minimum of 3 years of progressive nursing leadership experience, including direct oversight of infusion or ambulatory care services. The University of Vermont Health Network/Porter Medical Center is located in the heart of beautiful Middlebury, Vermont. We are comprised of a 25-bed acute care facility, a 98-bed skilled nursing facility which includes a memory care unit, short-term rehabilitation unit and a long-term care unit, and a network of primary care and specialty medical practices throughout Addison county and the town of Brandon.
