  • About the
Role:
  • The Access Manager is responsible for overseeing the daily operations ofthe agencys Open Access Program, which provides timely intakeassessments and access to behavioral health services for adults,children and families, individuals with substance use disorders, andindividuals with developmental disabilities (DS) who are alreadyapproved for services.

This role includes both administrative andclinical responsibilities, ensuring that the intake process isefficient, client-centered, and compliant with regulatory standards.

This position supervises a multidisciplinary team, including intakeclinicians, access/intake specialists, and a care coordinator. TheAccess Manager also conducts clinical intakes as needed, particularlyduring high-demand periods or for complex cases.

  • Principal Responsibilities:
  • Supervisory & Administrative:
  • Provide direct supervision to clinicians, access specialists, and a care coordinator within the Open Access Program.
  • Oversee daily scheduling and staffing to ensure coverage for walk-in and scheduled intakes.
  • Monitor program workflow to ensure prompt and effective access to care.
  • Support staff through case consultation, regular supervision meetings, and performance evaluations.
  • Ensure compliance with agency policies, licensing regulations, and funding requirements.
  • Maintain documentation and reporting systems for productivity, quality assurance, and service utilization.
  • Collaborate with the Directors and other department Managers to improve access processes and client experience.
  • Oversee insurance verification and ensure accurate application of benefits, billing procedures, and sliding scale fee determinations during the intake process
  • Clinical Duties:
  • Conduct comprehensive biopsychosocial assessments for adults, children, and individuals with co-occurring or developmental conditions as needed. In the
  • Make appropriate clinical recommendations and service referrals.
  • Support staff with clinical decision-making, crisis intervention, and coordination of care.
  • Maintain clinical documentation in accordance with agency and regulatory standards
  • Program Development & Collaboration:
  • Identify opportunities for process improvement and workflow optimization within Open Access.
  • Assist with staff training and onboarding related to access and intake procedures.
  • Collaborate with community partners, referral sources, and internal programs to facilitate smooth transitions into care.
  • Participate in quality assurance reviews and audits related to access and intake services
  • Other duties as assigned.
  • Qualifications:
  • Masters degree in Psychology or human services, willingness to be rostered with the state of VT required
  • Licensure as LCMHC, LICSW or related field preferred
  • Ability to model and promote recovery-oriented, trauma-informed, person-centered counseling/support to staff
  • Excellent interpersonal, organizational, and time management skills
  • Ability to balance autonomy and work within team structure
  • Proficiency with computers, experience entering data into electronic medical records program
  • Prior experience ompleting thorough diagnostic evaluations, assessments, and formulating comprehensive treatment recommendations
  • Must have a valid drivers license, reliable transportation with personal automobile liability insurance coverage at or above the levels mandated by the State of Vermont
