Design & Construction Location:
Charlotte, NC Key Responsibilities Serve as a member of the Executive Staff and contribute to system-wide strategic planning and leadership. Lead the planning, design, and construction of healthcare facilities using various delivery models (Design-Bid-Build, Negotiated Contracts, Design-Build). Manage and mentor a team of 16 design and construction professionals. Oversee project budgets, schedules, and quality standards in collaboration with hospital administration and external partners. Lead facility master planning initiatives to maintain premier healthcare environments. Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations, as well as Joint Commission LS and EOC standards. Develop and maintain policies, procedures, and standards related to design, construction, and land acquisition. Act as liaison between Facilities + Properties, Plant Operations, Biomedical, and regional facilities to ensure operational alignment. Represent the department in executive meetings, governing boards, and regional facilities groups. Monitor and manage departmental budgets, expenditures, and staffing levels.
Minimum Qualifications Education:
PhD in Architecture, Engineering, Construction Management, or related field.
Experience:
10-15 years of progressive leadership experience in healthcare design and construction. Proven track record of managing large-scale capital projects in a complex, multi-site healthcare environment. Strong knowledge of healthcare regulations, building codes, and accreditation standards. Exceptional leadership, negotiation, and communication skills.
