Health and Wellness Coordinator Academy of Burkitt Commons Rockvale, TN Job Description Position Summary The Health and Wellness Coordinator is responsible for all food preparation and delivery in the center. This includes compliance with all food related guidelines and regulations, budgeting, sanitation, inventory and daily accountability. Essential Duties and Responsibilities The essential functions include, but are not limited to the following: Maintains overall sanitation, health, cleanliness, organization and safety standards for food preparation areas, cooking services, dishes and utensils, in adherence with Company regulations. Responsible for managing health inspections and ensuring compliance with all safe food handling requirements, including following USDA and state regulations at all times. Maintaining protocols to ensure safe food handling relative to any known food allergies and/or dietary restrictions. Sources, prepares, washes, and cuts food to be cooked. Ensures that food sizes are age appropriate for all children to reduce the risk of choking. Budgets food expenses and maintains inventory records. Places all orders through approved vendors and ensures expenses do not go over budget. Prepares and cooks balanced nutritious meals and snacks following the menu guidelines. Ensures appropriate portion sizes are provided for all children in accordance with USDA guidelines. Properly store and label all food items with a date to prevent contamination or spoilage. Operates large-volume cooking equipment. Multitasks by managing all kitchen duties independently. Performs other related duties as assigned. Minimum Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities) High school or vocational school coursework in kitchen basics, such as food safety. Ability to successfully complete and maintain current ServSafe certification. Basic understanding of or ability to learn sanitation and regulations for workplace safety. Basic understanding of or ability to learn food-handling techniques, preparation, and cooking procedures. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Strong organizational and time management skills. Ability to work independently in a fast based environment. Must be able to work well as part of a team. Ability to maintain personal cleanliness.
