Histology HT/HTL Gastro Florida – 2.3 Saint Petersburg, FL Job Details Full-time $28 – $30 an hour 1 day ago Benefits Disability insurance Health insurance Dental insurance 401(k) Paid time off Employee assistance program Vision insurance Life insurance Qualifications HT Certification Customer service High school diploma or GED Data entry Computer skills HTL Certification Entry level Full Job Description We are seeking competent, conscientious, service-oriented individuals with strong character to work in one of our gastroenterology medical lab to assist the Pathologists and Histology Technologists in the Anatomic Pathology laboratory. Participates in authorized activities from accessioning the final slide product. They will work under the direction of the Lab Manager.
Qualifications:
Licensed Histology Tech only need apply High School Diploma or Equivalent Required Good clerical, organizational and communications skills. Proficient in Microsoft (excel, work) suite and keyboarding skills. One year experience working in customer service is preferred.
Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities:
Follows assigned work detail by efficiently prioritizing work load. Large volume of Daily data entry. Excellent computer skills. Can handle large volume of phone calls. Performs accurate labeling and filing of microscopic slides and blocks. Keeps gross area and histology supplies stocked, clean and free of safety hazards. Effectively communicates with lab personnel and co-works in resolving issues, both orally and written. Verifies requisitions for completeness of patient and client information. Follows proper procedures for specimen rejection if the submitted information is incorrect. Procedures and correctly labels cassettes, specimen containers, requisitions and slides. Files and retrieves blocks and slides in accordance with State and Federal guidelines. Maintains confidentiality of sensitive information concerning patients, physicians, employees, clients and vendors. Complies with all departmental rules, policies and procedures. Adheres to all safety regulations. Adheres to HIPAA regulations. Performs all other duties as assigned by the Histology General Supervisor or Laboratory Director.
