Variable This position is eligible for a $10,000 sign on bonus for new graduates and a $15,000 sign on bonus for Techs with 2 years or more of experience. •Current employees of any Northern Light Health Organization or those with service breaks less than a year are not eligible for a sign on bonus•

Summary:

Under the supervision of the Director of Imaging, the MRI Lead Technologist directs and coordinates technical staff in performing MRI studies and related tasks as prescribed by the referring physician and/or radiologist. As a working technologist, the lead also performs patient care tasks. The lead tech assumes the responsibility and safety of their patients and colleagues in the work area. The lead tech acts as a role model and facilitator working in collaboration with all levels of departmental personnel.

Responsibilities:

+ Continually assesses department for compliance with all federal, state, local and other regulatory (Joint Commission, OSHA, CMS, etc.) requirements. + Completes annual staff training, competencies, and training for new hires, students or other personnel, ensuring staff understanding of compliance and safety. + Reports problems with equipment, workflow or procedures to the Director of Imaging promptly. + Demonstrates developmental and team building qualities to appropriately prepare staff for productive, fast paced and flexible work environment. + Demonstrates mastery of technical skills needed to operate all equipment and to perform all exams for all age groups and works closely with the Radiologist to build protocols. + Completes staff schedule and coordinates daily workflows based on, but not limited to call-offs, vacations, patient volumes and training needs. + Performs examinations; engages staff in solving problems that interfere with the daily operations. + Demonstrates ability to take on additional responsibilities. + Participates in all QC, QA and PIP programs and meets department standards. + Completes scheduled work within shift and displays flexibility with changes. + Ensures MRI safety and competency for all. + Demonstrates the ability to responsibly develop and maintain positive relationships with director, co-workers, and patients and handle stressful situations without negative effects. + Participate in interview process for prospective staff and provide feedback for annual evaluations as requested by the Director of Imaging. + Ensure equipment availability and work with Vendors to schedule preventative maintenance, updates, and testing as needed. Makes recommendations for equipment needs. + Explains procedures, provides information, and complete medical history reviews for all patients. + Works closely with scheduling department to ensure maximum throughput of 90% or greater, as well as timely scheduling. + Assists with development, implementation and compliance of policies and procedures. + Other Duties as required or assigned.

Other Information:
