Histotechnician-Mohs Clinic Blue Ridge Dermatology Associates, P.A. Raleigh, NC 27607

Job Overview:

One of the Triangle’s premier dermatology practices, Blue Ridge Dermatology, is seeking a friendly, energetic self-starter to join our growing team. Full-time Mohs histotechnologist job available at this well-established private practice in Raleigh, NC. The person hired for this position will work with a fellowship-trained Mohs surgeon. Competitive salary and benefits as below. Full time position includes a benefit package (including health, dental, vision) after satisfactory completion of a 90-day probationary period. Raleigh is a vibrant city in the Triangle region of North Carolina. It is a fast-growing area of the country with robust healthcare and tech industries, and both the mountains and the coast are accessible in under 3 hours.

Qualifications:
  • ASCP certification preferred
  • 2+ years experience working in Mohs surgery histotech role
  • Understanding of CLIA and OSHA lab requirements
Responsibilities:
  • independently embed, section, stain, and cover-slip tissue specimens
  • Independently troubleshoot technical issues with tissue processing and equipment function
  • process tissue from special sites including eyelids, cartilage, and mucosal sites
  • perform immunostains for complex tumors (on-the-job training available)
  • independently operate Mohs equipment including cryostat, automatic stainer, and processing chemicals/supplies
  • perform quality control of equipment
  • manage chemical storage and management
  • maintain records of processed tissue and assist with storage of specimens
  • assist with lab certification processes
  • collaborate with Mohs surgeon to provide excellent care for patients
  • willingness to help train back-up staff
