Direct Support Professional (Residential) 3.0 3.0 out of 5 stars 101 W Lamar Ave, Tuscumbia, AL 35674 Overview We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Direct Support Professional to join our team. In this role, you will provide essential support and care to individuals with varying needs, ensuring their well-being and promoting their independence. You will work closely with individual(s) in their home and community setting, assisting them in daily activities while respecting their rights and dignity. Responsibilities Provide direct support to individuals in daily living activities, including personal hygiene, meal preparation, and medication management. Assist with mobility and transportation needs, ensuring their safety at all times. Observe and document changes in conditions, reporting any concerns to the appropriate personnel. Implement individualized person- centered plans tailored to each specific needs and preferences. Foster a supportive environment that encourages social interaction and community involvement. Educate on health and wellness practices, promoting healthy lifestyles. Uphold resident rights by treating all individuals with respect and dignity while maintaining confidentiality. Must have cooking and cleaning skills. Requirements
MANDATORY HIGH SCHOOL DIPLOMA OR GED. CURRENT & VALID DRIVER LICENSE. MUST
be 21 years of age to be insurable with carrier. Previous experience in nursing home settings or patient care is preferred. Very good drivers’ record. Criminal background (national, state, local, etc.), can’t employ an individual with a felony. Drug screen TB screen
EXPERIENCE/SKILLS
(PREFERRED) : Experience with dementia care or home community care is highly desirable. Strong observational skills to monitor behavior and health status effectively. Ability to assist with physical tasks while ensuring their comfort and safety. Excellent communication skills to interact effectively with residents, families, and team members. A commitment to advocating for resident’s rights and promoting independence.
