This position involves assisting clients in their daily activities, promoting independence, and ensuring their well-being in various settings such as assisted living facilities, long-term care environments, or hospice care. The DSP will work closely with clients to enhance their quality of life while respecting their rights and preferences. Duties Provide personal care assistance, including bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting. Assist clients with meal preparation and cooking while adhering to dietary restrictions. Administer medications as prescribed and ensure proper documentation of medication administration. Support clients in engaging in social activities and community involvement. Help clients with mobility needs, including lifting and transferring when necessary. Maintain a clean and safe environment for clients, ensuring compliance with resident rights. Collaborate with healthcare professionals, family members, and other caregivers to develop and implement individualized care plans. Monitor client behavior and report any changes or concerns to the appropriate personnel. Requirements Previous experience in caregiving or direct support roles is preferred. Knowledge of resident rights and the ability to advocate for clients’ needs. Familiarity with medication administration protocols is a plus. Experience working with individuals on the autism spectrum or those requiring long-term care is highly desirable. Ability to lift and assist clients safely as needed. Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively within a team environment. Compassionate demeanor with a genuine interest in helping others achieve their goals. Certification in CPR/First Aid is beneficial but not required at the time of hire. This position requires dedication to providing high-quality support while fostering an environment of respect and dignity for all clients.

Job Types:

$9.75 – $10.00 per hour Expected hours: 40 – 60 per week

8 hour shift Day shift Evening shift Morning shift Overnight shift Weekends as needed
