DSP (Direct Support Professional) Remedy Decatur, AL 35601 Overview We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Direct Support Professional to join our team. In this role, you will provide essential support to individuals with disabilities, assisting them in daily living activities and promoting their independence within the community. Your commitment to enhancing the quality of life for those you serve will be paramount in this fulfilling position. Responsibilities Assist individuals with daily living activities, including personal care, meal preparation, and household tasks. Provide patient monitoring to ensure the health and safety of clients. Support clients in community integration by facilitating participation in social and recreational activities. Maintain accurate records of client progress and any changes in condition. Assist with heavy lifting as needed for mobility or transportation of clients. Administer first aid and CPR when necessary, ensuring a safe environment for all clients. Collaborate with healthcare professionals to implement individualized care plans. Foster a positive and supportive atmosphere that encourages client independence and well-being. Qualifications Previous experience in caregiving, assisted living, nursing homes, or home community care is preferred. Knowledge of patient monitoring techniques and vital sign assessment is beneficial. Ability to work effectively with individuals with disabilities and understand their unique needs. Strong communication skills and a compassionate demeanor are essential. CPR certification is a plus; willingness to obtain certification if not currently held.
