Mon/Fri 3pm-11pm & Sat/Sun 3pm-10pm (30 hrs/week) Fri/Sat 7am-3pm (16 hrs/week) Sat/Sun 7am-3pm (16 hrs/week) Sat/Sun 3pm-11pm (16 hrs/week) Substitute shifts available
Please Note:
All new hires must attend a paid orientation, Monday-Friday from 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM at our Hartford campus.
Orientation dates:
6/30, 7/14, or 7/28. Attendance is mandatory, even for part-time hires. About Oak Hill Oak Hill is Connecticut’s largest private provider of services to people with disabilities. We are seeking dedicated, compassionate, and reliable Direct Support Professionals (DSPs) to join our Simsbury residential team. This role is an opportunity to make a real difference in the lives of individuals with developmental and intellectual disabilities. We support people in reaching their goals through personal care, community involvement, vocational activities, and daily life skills —promoting independence, dignity, and growth. What You’ll Do As a DSP at Oak Hill, you will: Provide hands-on support for individuals with disabilities in their homes and the community Assist with daily living tasks including hygiene, meal preparation, and medication administration Support individuals with medical and personal appointments Encourage independence through skill-building and daily routines Keep detailed documentation of care, behaviors, and progress Participate in team meetings and help plan personalized care strategies Promote a safe and supportive environment for all individuals served Who You Are You’re someone who: Is compassionate, patient, and dependable Enjoys helping others reach their full potential Works well independently and as part of a team Is comfortable assisting with physical care and daily living needs Has strong communication and problem-solving skills Minimum Requirements High school diploma or GED Must be 18 years or older Valid driver’s license required Ability to pass all required background checks and training (including CPR/First Aid—training provided)
