The ideal candidate will provide essential support to patients in various settings, including inpatient and outpatient environments. This role is crucial in ensuring that patients receive high-quality care while promoting their comfort and well-being. As a Personal Care Assistant, you will work closely with healthcare professionals in a Level II trauma center, emergency medicine, teaching hospitals, clinics, and hospital medicine settings. Responsibilities Assist patients with daily living activities such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and meal preparation. Provide companionship and emotional support to patients to enhance their quality of life. Monitor and report changes in patient conditions to nursing staff or healthcare providers. Help with mobility assistance and transfers for patients as needed. Maintain a clean and safe environment for patients by adhering to hygiene and safety protocols. Support healthcare teams in delivering care within the Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU) or other specialized units as required. Participate in patient education initiatives under the guidance of healthcare professionals. Skills Experience or knowledge in inpatient care settings is preferred. Familiarity with emergency medicine practices is advantageous. Ability to work effectively in a Level II trauma center or teaching hospital environment. Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively with patients, families, and team members. Compassionate nature with a genuine desire to help others. Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team in both outpatient clinics and hospital medicine settings. Flexibility to adapt to various patient needs and changing environments.
