Job Description

Personal Care Assistant (PCA) Global Horizon Care Services New Britain, CT 06050

Patient Assistant Duties:
  • SPANISH SPEAKING
  • Provide direct support and assistance to patients with autism, developmental disabilities, dementia, and other special needs
  • Assist with activities of daily living (ADLs) such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting
  • Prepare and serve meals according to dietary restrictions and preferences
  • Monitor and document patient’s health status and report any changes to the healthcare team
  • Assist with medication reminders and administration under the supervision of a nurse or healthcare professional
  • Provide companionship and engage patients in recreational activities
  • Ensure the safety and well-being of patients at all times
  • Maintain a clean and organized environment for patients
Requirements:
  • Willingness to obtain CPR, First Aid within 30 days of hire.
  • Experience working with individuals with autism, developmental disabilities, dementia, or other special needs
  • Knowledge of patient care techniques and best practices
  • Familiarity with assisting patients with ADLs
  • Ability to follow instructions and work as part of a healthcare team
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Compassionate and patient-centered approach to care
  • Ability to adapt to different patient needs and preferences
  • Valid driver’s license (if required for home care assignments)
  • High school diploma or equivalent
