- 9am) We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Direct Support Professional to provide essential support and care to individuals with disabilities or special needs.
The ideal candidate will play a vital role in enhancing the quality of life for our clients by assisting them with daily activities, promoting independence, and ensuring their safety and well-being. This position requires a patient and empathetic individual who is committed to fostering a supportive environment. Responsibilities Assist clients with daily living activities, including personal hygiene, dressing, and grooming. Monitor clients’ health and well-being by observing vital signs and reporting any changes to the appropriate personnel. Engage clients in social activities and recreational programs to promote social interaction and mental stimulation. Support clients with memory care techniques to enhance cognitive function and recall. Cook nutritious meals according to dietary requirements and preferences of the clients. Maintain a clean and safe living environment by performing light housekeeping duties. Lift and assist clients as needed for mobility or during transfers. Collaborate with healthcare professionals, family members, and other caregivers to develop personalized care plans. Qualifications Previous experience in caregiving or direct support roles is preferred but not required. Experience working with nonverbal individuals a PLUS! Knowledge of patient monitoring techniques and vital signs assessment is beneficial. Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively with clients, families, and team members. Ability to lift individuals safely while adhering to proper lifting techniques. Compassionate demeanor with a genuine desire to help others achieve their highest level of independence. Must be able to work flexible hours, including mornings, evenings or weekends if necessary.
