Job Description This project is in the proposal stage, we’re awaiting to be awardedthe contract This position is in support of the County of Sarasota Florida toprovide care for those with special needs who are displaced in theevent of a largescale disaster. This position requires theindividual to be able to respond to a disaster with in 24 hours ofnotice and to establish care with in 72 hours of notification. Thisis a post disaster mission and will require the individual to beonsite until conclusion of the operation. The Care Assistant provides healthcare and support to patients inthe medical facility. Duties include offering basic physicalassistance to patients, feeding patients according to their dietaryneeds and recording vital signs. They will perform these dutiesunder the supervision of an LVN/LPN or Nurse.

Key Responsibilities:

Assisting patients as directed with daily activities. Stocking medical supplies. Monitoring vital signs and changing wound dressings. Preforming medical assessments of patients. Maintaining accurate patient records and updating themconfidentially. Communicating with patients and their families, as well asother healthcare personnel. Clean and bathe patients or residents. Maintain patients’ hygiene and change bedding. Turn, reposition and move patients between wheelchairs, seatsand beds. Serve meals and help patients eat their food. Listen to patients regarding any health concerns they mighthave and report details to a Registered Nurse or Medical Provider(MD, PA, NP). This list is non-exhaustive, and the role holder may be required toundertake additional duties that are not specifically listedabove.

Qualifications Experience Required:

Strong oral and written communication skills. Excellent interpersonal skills. Critical thinking skills. Cultural competency. Integrity and honesty. Experience with special needs populations (preferred, notrequired).

Education Required:

Graduate from an accredited program for Certified NursingAssistant or Medical assistants located in a State, the District ofColumbia, or a U.S. territory. Minimum one year of professional experience as a licensedLVN/LPN in a hospital, medical office or residential setting. Required Licenses /

Certifications:

Current, full and unrestricted licensed as CNA/ in the state inwhich the duty station is located. Basic Life Support. Current and valid driver’s license. Travel /

Rotation Requirements:

Travel to Sarasota upon notification. Additional Information Pay range is based on several factors and may vary in addition to afull range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits. Finalsalary and offer will be determined by the applicant’s background,experience, skills, internal equity, and alignment withgeographical market data.
