The HHA is a nonprofessional employee trained in supportive services to provide and maintain bodily and emotional comfort and to assist the patient toward independent living in a safe environment, one who has received training through a vocational school, licensed /certified home health agency, or hospital. Candidates must be bilingual in both English and Spanish to understand our Spanish-speaking patients’ needs. Duties Observing the appearance and gross behavioral changes in the patient and reporting to the professional nurse Attempting to promote the patient’s mental alertness through involvement in activities of interest. Giving emotional support and psychological support to the patient and other members of the household Keeping records of personal health care and activities Fully participating as a member of the health team; caring for the patient, maintaining ethics, and confidentiality Experience Current Home Health Aide (HHA) license in good standing.
