Behavioral-Focused Direct Support Professional (DSP) We are currently seeking compassionate, reliable, and behaviorally focused Direct Support Professionals (DSPs) to join our team.

Positions are available for:

Morning Shifts Weekends PRN (As Needed) Preferred Qualifications (a plus): PCM (Professional Crisis Management) Certified MAP (Medication Administration Program) Certified Current CPR Certification Candidates with experience in behavioral support and a strong commitment to enhancing the lives of individuals with developmental disabilities are encouraged to apply. Direct Support Professional (DSP) Responsibilities Direct Support Professionals (DSPs) are essential in supporting individuals with disabilities to lead meaningful, independent lives.

Their core duties include:

1. Personal Care Assistance Supporting individuals with activities of daily living, including bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting. 2. Medication Management Administering prescribed medications accurately and monitoring for any adverse reactions or side effects. 3. Meal Preparation Planning and preparing meals that meet nutritional and dietary guidelines tailored to individual needs. 4. Transportation Providing or coordinating safe transportation to medical appointments, employment, and social or recreational events. 5. Household Management Assisting with domestic tasks such as cleaning, laundry, organizing living spaces, and maintaining a safe home environment. 6. Behavioral Support Implementing behavior support plans consistently and effectively managing any challenging behaviors. 7. Documentation Maintaining accurate records of the individual’s progress, behavioral incidents, health updates, and other relevant information. 8. Social Interaction Encouraging and facilitating participation in community activities and fostering positive social relationships. 9. Skill Development Teaching practical life skills such as budgeting, cooking, personal hygiene, and navigating public transportation. 10. APD Compliance Ensuring adherence to Agency for Persons with Disabilities (APD) requirements, including: Completing all required continuing education and training Staying current with policy updates and procedural guidelines Following all state and agency-mandated documentation and care standards Summary As a Direct Support Professional, you will provide essential caregiving services to individuals in various settings, including group homes and assisted living facilities. Your core skills in patient care and assisting with activities of daily living (ADLs) will be vital in promoting the well-being and independence of those you support. With premium skills in first aid, patient observation, and cooking, you will ensure a safe and nurturing environment. Additionally, your relevant experience in long-term care and social work will enhance your ability to teach and budget effectively, fostering a supportive community for clients.
