Direct Support Professional – Companion/Personal Support Houston Care Services Tampa, FL 33619 Job Summary The Direct Support Professional (DSP) plays a vital role in enhancing the quality of life for individuals with developmental disabilities and other special needs. This position involves providing assistance and support in daily living activities, promoting independence, and ensuring a safe and nurturing environment. The DSP will work closely with clients to foster their personal growth and help them achieve their goals while maintaining dignity and respect. Schedule is fixed…Monday 2pm-6pm, Thursday 10am-4pm and Saturday 11am-5pm. Responsibilities Support clients in community integration by facilitating participation in social, recreational, and educational activities. Implement individualized care plans tailored to each client’s unique needs and preferences. Monitor and document client progress, behaviors, and any changes in condition. Provide companionship and emotional support to enhance the overall well-being of clients. Ensure a safe environment by adhering to health and safety protocols, including first aid when necessary. Collaborate with families, caregivers, and other professionals to coordinate care effectively. Maintain confidentiality of client information in accordance with legal and ethical standards. Skills Experience in home health care or assisted living environments is highly beneficial. Knowledge of working with individuals who have developmental disabilities or autism is preferred. Strong communication skills to effectively interact with clients, families, and team members. Competence in first aid procedures to ensure safety during emergencies.
