Job Title:

Direct Support Professional Companionship Monday through Friday 9:00 am 3:00pm taking client out in the community in your own vehicle.

Job Summary:

Current staff has been on case for a good time, however weekend additional assistance is now needed. This patient is bed bound and requires bed bathing, feeding by mouth, singing, reading, as patient is non verbal. During down time care giver is to do laundry and assist with light house keeping. Patient requires little care, but must be changed in a timely manner. We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Direct Support Professional to join our team. As a Direct Support Professional, you will play a crucial role in providing care and support to individuals with developmental disabilities. Your primary responsibility will be to assist residents with daily activities, promote independence, and ensure their well-being in a supportive environment.

Responsibilities:

• Provide direct care and support to individuals with developmental disabilities
• Assist residents with personal hygiene tasks and grooming
• Implement individualized care plans to meet the unique needs of each resident
• Engage residents in recreational activities and social interactions
• Monitor and document residents’ progress and any changes in behavior
• Assist with meal preparation and ensure dietary requirements are met
• Uphold resident rights and promote a safe and respectful environment
• Collaborate with healthcare professionals, including nurses, to address residents’ medical needs
• Utilize behavior management techniques to support residents in achieving their goals

Requirements:

• Previous experience in care, childcare, or direct support roles preferred
• Knowledge of dementia care principles is a plus
• Familiarity with meal preparation techniques and dietary restrictions
• Understanding of resident rights and long-term care practices
• Ability to work with individuals with developmental disabilities in a compassionate manner
