In this role, you will provide essential support and care to individuals with developmental disabilities, ensuring their well-being and enhancing their quality of life. You will work closely with clients promoting independence while respecting their rights and dignity. Responsibilities Provide companionship and emotional support, fostering a positive environment for clients Implement individualized care plans tailored to each resident’s needs, ensuring adherence to HIPAA regulations. Engage residents in social and recreational activities to promote community involvement and personal growth. Uphold resident rights and advocate for their needs within the facility. Assist in maintaining a clean and safe living environment for all residents. Skills Knowledge of HIPAA regulations to ensure confidentiality and privacy of resident information. Experience in assisted living or caregiving settings, particularly with individuals who have dementia or other cognitive impairments. Ability to perform basic patient observation tasks and recognize changes in behavior or health conditions. Familiarity with meal preparation techniques that cater to dietary restrictions or preferences of residents. Strong interpersonal skills to effectively communicate with residents, families, and team members. Understanding of the rights of individuals with developmental disabilities and commitment to advocating for their needs. Previous experience working with individuals who have developmental disabilities is preferred but not required.
