Must be able to work between the hours 6AM-9AM Monday -Friday Must be able to work every other Saturday and Sunday between the hours of 7am-10pm In this role you will carry out rewarding work and play a crucial role in the success of our organization. We have immediate openings available to provide services to adults with developmental disabilities in an APD licensed group home setting (non-behavioral). You will assist with daily activities such as social engagement with residents, community outings, meal preparation, personal care, shopping, cleaning and organization, medication administration and daily documentation of notes for individuals needing care.
MUST HAVE AT LEAST 1 YEAR OF EXPERIENCE
working with people with disabilities or similar field. A High school Diploma/GED, must have the ability to verbally communicate, read, write, and interpret documents and instructions in English. Must be able to successfully complete a level 2 background screening and drugs screening, have a valid Florida State driver’s license, willing to transport individuals using company van, and maintain an acceptable driving record.
Qualifications:
High School Diploma or GED equivalent At least 1 year experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities (e.g., Autism, Cerebral Palsy, etc.) or childcare/family care (references required) Valid Driver’s License from state of residence Must be minimum of 21 years of age Successful clearance of background checks A good direct care professional should have genuine care and concern for the individuals they are working with. They should be able to empathize with their situation and provide emotional support, patience, and kindness Communicate in a professional and positive manner. Effectively work as part of the team.. Document all required information pertaining to programs, leisure activities, health status, personal care needs, and other communication applicable to individuals in the home. Complete all required documentation accurately and in a timely manner. Aid with personal care for all individuals in the home as needed including, but not limited to, toileting, changing diapers, bathing, dressing, and hygiene needs. Ensure safety for individuals in the home during mealtimes. Follow correct procedures for each individual, including but not limited to, preparation of food, diet textures, dietary restrictions, adaptive mealtime equipment, and feeding assistance. Safely lift, transfer, and reposition all individuals in the home as outlined in daily schedules. Use of proper body mechanics and correct physical management techniques to reduce risk of injury to self or others. Perform physical requirements associated with transferring/positioning individuals, implementation of behavioral crisis management and lifting/carrying up to 50lbs. Complete housekeeping duties daily to ensure a safe and clean environment. This includes but is not limited to washing dishes, making beds, laundry, taking out trash, cleaning bathrooms and kitchens, mopping and sweeping. Monitor and report any issues related to the personal care and medical needs of people in the home as well as any needs for wheelchairs or adaptive equipment Florida Driver’s License with no more than two moving violations in the past three years.
