This position focuses on providing guidance, support, and resources to enhance the quality of life for clients and their families. The ideal candidate will possess a compassionate nature, strong communication skills, and the ability to work collaboratively with diverse populations. Duties Provide direct support to individuals with developmental disabilities and autism in various settings, including home and community care. Assist individuals with finding affordable housing in their local community, which allows the individual to live independently. Ensure individual is trained on how to pay rent, light bill, water bill and other essential utilities to maintain their home. Assist families in navigating available resources and services to promote independence and well-being. Implement behavior management strategies tailored to individual needs. Facilitate communication between clients, families, and service providers to ensure cohesive support. Administer medication as prescribed while ensuring compliance with safety protocols. Collaborate with support coordinators and special education professionals to develop individualized support plans. Drive clients to appointments or community activities as required. Maintain accurate documentation of services provided and progress made. Experience Experience working with individuals with autism or developmental disabilities is preferred. Background in special education or direct support roles is advantageous. Familiarity with home community care practices is a plus. Skills in behavior management techniques are beneficial. A valid driver’s license is required for transportation responsibilities.
