In this role, you will provide essential support to individuals with disabilities, ensuring their well-being and enhancing their quality of life. You will work closely with clients to assist them in daily activities, promote independence, and foster a supportive environment. This position requires patience, empathy, and strong communication skills. Duties As a Direct Support Professional, your responsibilities will include: Assisting clients with personal care tasks such as bathing, grooming, and dressing. Monitoring patient health and reporting any changes to the appropriate personnel. Providing memory care support to individuals with cognitive impairments. Engaging clients in social activities to promote interaction and community involvement. Preparing meals according to dietary restrictions and preferences. Assisting with mobility and heavy lifting as needed to ensure client safety. Supporting clients in developing daily living skills and promoting independence. Maintaining a clean and safe environment for clients at all times. Experience Ideal candidates will possess the following experience and skills: Previous experience in direct support or caregiving roles, particularly in nursing homes or similar settings. Familiarity with patient monitoring techniques and first aid practices. Experience working with individuals with disabilities is highly desirable. Strong interpersonal skills with a focus on empathy and understanding. Ability to perform heavy lifting when assisting clients with mobility needs.
