Summary As a Direct Support Professional at Sunrise Community, you will play a vital role in assisting individuals with disabilities in their daily activities and promoting their independence. This position is essential in fostering a supportive environment that encourages personal growth and community involvement. Responsibilities Assists Residential Program Director in providing supervision to meet the needs and goals of the individuals according to their plans Ensures each individual’s training, behavior and support programs are being implemented and documented in accordance with regulatory requirements Ensures that the health, safety and well-being of the individuals are protected at all times Provides a positive, reinforcing environment that promotes independence and choice Assists Residential Program Director with scheduling staff, doctors’ appointments, vehicle maintenance and grocery shopping as assigned Provides assistance with monitoring for ongoing compliance with agency directives, licensing standards and policies and procedures Ensures all homes, outside areas and vehicles are well maintained and organized Proficiency in the English language (both written and verbal) is required as this job entails direct care of adults and children receiving services. Employees are required to communicate, both orally and in writing, with staff and others regarding medical care, supports, and services. This requirement includes the ability to effectively communicate in English including medical terminology. Performs all other duties as assigned Qualifications Must successfully complete the required pre-employment Background /Drug Screenings and POET exam Must possess a valid Driver’s License which meets company standards for approved driver status Must possess basic computer skills High School Diploma or equivalent if required by work location Minimum one year of experience working in the human service field if required by work location
