This role is crucial for enhancing the quality of life for those in assisted living environments, group homes, or receiving home health services. The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of the unique needs of individuals with disabilities and autism, ensuring a safe and nurturing environment. Duties The primary responsibilities of this role involve taking the client out of the home for various outings, such as visiting parks, movie theaters, grocery stores, libraries, and restaurants. Providing transportation to medical appointments. Provide direct support to individuals in assisted living or group home settings. Engage clients in meaningful activities that promote social interaction and emotional well-being. Monitor patient health and report any changes or concerns to appropriate personnel. Assist with daily living tasks, including cooking nutritious meals. Ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations to protect client confidentiality. Offer companionship and emotional support to enhance clients’ overall quality of life. Provide assistance to individuals with disabilities, ensuring their comfort and safety at all times. Maintain accurate records of client interactions and progress. Requirements Experience in direct support roles, particularly within assisted living or group home environments. Familiarity with working with individuals on the autism spectrum or those with various disabilities is preferred. Certification in CPR is a plus, demonstrating readiness for emergency situations. Strong communication skills and the ability to build rapport with clients. Knowledge of patient monitoring techniques and home health practices is advantageous. A caring attitude, patience, and a genuine desire to help others are essential qualities for this role. Ability to work flexible hours as needed to meet client requirements.
