PCA Personal Care Assistant Professional and Quality Home Care LLC. Savannah, GA 31406 •Hiring Male Caregiver•Job Summary The Personal Care Assistant (PCA) plays a vital role in providing essential support and care to patients in various healthcare settings. This position is designed for compassionate individuals who are dedicated to enhancing the quality of life for patients, particularly those in need of assistance due to medical conditions or age-related challenges. The PCA will work closely with healthcare professionals to ensure that patients receive the highest standard of care. Duties Assist patients with daily living activities, including bathing, dressing, grooming, and meal preparation. Monitor and record patient vital signs and report any changes to the nursing staff. Provide companionship and emotional support to patients, fostering a positive environment. Help patients with mobility and transfers, ensuring safety and comfort at all times. Maintain cleanliness and organization in patient areas, adhering to infection control protocols. Assist with basic medical tasks as directed by healthcare professionals, including but not limited to feeding assistance and medication reminders. Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams in settings such as PICU, Level I Trauma Centers, Teaching hospitals, Medical-surgical units, Level II Trauma Centers, ORs, Geriatrics departments, Inpatient care facilities, Hospital medicine units, and Emergency medicine departments. Skills Strong communication skills to effectively interact with patients and healthcare team members. Empathy and compassion for providing high-quality patient care. Ability to work in fast-paced environments while maintaining attention to detail. Experience or familiarity with various medical settings such as PICU or Level I Trauma Centers is a plus. Knowledge of basic medical terminology related to Geriatrics and Inpatient care is beneficial. Physical stamina to assist with patient mobility and perform tasks that may require lifting or standing for extended periods. Willingness to learn and adapt in diverse healthcare environments including hospital medicine and emergency medicine settings.
