Sharpsburg, GA 30277 Job Summary We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Direct Support Professional (DSP) with a strong background in supporting individuals with Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities (IDD) , specifically within the Georgia DBHDD system . The ideal candidate will be passionate about person-centered care and skilled in assisting individuals with daily living activities, behavior support, and community integration while adhering to DBHDD standards.

  • $17.00 per hour Shift availability: Tuesday, 8am
  • 8pm Thursday , 8am
  • 5pm Friday, 8am
  • 5pm Responsibilities Assist clients with daily living activities, including personal hygiene, dressing, and grooming.

Prepare nutritious meals and assist with meal planning to meet dietary needs. Monitor and document vital signs as needed, ensuring the health and well-being of clients. Observe and report any changes in client behavior or condition to appropriate personnel. Provide companionship and emotional support to clients, fostering a positive environment. Assist clients in participating in recreational activities and community engagement. Implement care plans tailored to individual needs, including those related to dementia care or autism support. Maintain a clean and safe living environment for clients, adhering to all safety protocols. Skills Experience in assisting individuals with intellectual disabilities or special needs, particularly in nursing home or hospice care settings. Ability to monitor vital signs and perform patient observation effectively. Compassionate caregiving skills with a focus on enhancing client comfort and dignity. Familiarity with dementia care techniques and strategies for working with individuals on the autism spectrum. Excellent communication skills for interacting with clients, families, and healthcare professionals. Patience, empathy, and a strong desire to make a positive impact on the lives of others. This position is essential for creating a supportive environment that empowers individuals to thrive while receiving the care they need.
