Hiram, GA 30141 Job Overview We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Direct Support Professional to provide essential support and care for individuals with disabilities in a group home setting. The ideal candidate will have a strong commitment to enhancing the quality of life for those they serve, ensuring their safety, dignity, and independence. This role involves working closely with clients to assist them in daily activities and promote their overall well-being. Duties Assist clients with daily living activities such as personal hygiene, meal preparation, and medication management. Provide patient monitoring to ensure the health and safety of individuals under care. Support clients in social and recreational activities to encourage community involvement and engagement. Facilitate communication between clients and their families or other caregivers. Implement individualized care plans tailored to each client’s needs, including memory care strategies. Assist with heavy lifting as needed for client mobility or during transfers. Maintain a clean and safe environment within the group home setting. Document client progress and any changes in behavior or health status accurately. Skills Knowledge of direct support techniques and best practices in home care settings. Ability to perform heavy lifting when necessary, ensuring the safety of both clients and staff. Familiarity with memory care practices to support clients with cognitive impairments. Proficiency in patient monitoring techniques to observe and report on client health status. Strong interpersonal skills to build rapport with clients and their families. Certification in CPR is a plus, ensuring readiness for emergency situations. A compassionate approach combined with patience and understanding is essential for success in this role.
